Thousands Still In The Dark After Monday’s Storm

SHARE NOW

It was just six days ago when last Wednesday’s tornado warnings rang out across the Finger Lakes, and now more severe weather was back yesterday afternoon.

This time, instead of tornadoes straight, line winds, large hail, and heavy rain were the main issues. Trees came down across the Finger Lakes blocking roads and hitting some houses.

In Canandaigua about 12-utlity poles were snapped off along Eastern Boulevard. More severe weather is expected across the Finger Lakes later today.

The storms yesterday knocked out power across the region. Still this morning just over a thousand NYSEG customers in Cayuga County are in the dark, as well as 1500 in Cortland County, over 200 in Ontario County, 4500 in Schuyler, 800 in Seneca, and 4200 in Tompkins County all are still without power.
