One man is in custody following a Thursday stabbing in the City of Ithaca.
Police report receiving a call at around 3:16p for the stabbing at the 600 Block of Spencer Rd. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a large laceration to his forearm with uncontrolled bleeding.
Bangs Ambulance and the Ithaca Fire Department were able to provide aid to the victim. He was eventually taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Officers learned that, prior to the stabbing, a woman whom the victim knew had entered his residence without permission, engaged him in a verbal altercation, and stabbed him before fleeing the scene. 24-year-old Jessica Leigh Anderson was eventually found and charged with Burglary and Assault, both felonies, along with Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
She was arraigned at Ithaca City Court and taken to jail on $1,000 Cash Bail/$5,000 Insurance Bond/$20,000 Partially Secured Surety Bon with a 10% deposit.
