A Canandaigua man could spend 20 years behind bars if convicted of Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received tips from Snapchat in July 2023 and January 2024 that an account saved, shared, or uploaded files of suspected child porn to the platform.

A search warrant was executed at the residence of Joshua AbrilAlicea on April 26, 2024, which saw several digital devices seized.
While executing the warrant, the 28-year-old was observed with a minor girl. An investigation later determined that he had sex with the girl, leading to a rape charge from the New York State Police.
The investigation also determined that the victim had sent several naked pictures to AbrilAliciea via Snapchat which he saved on his cellphone.
