(Note: Story has been updated to correct the school district Petit worked at in Monroe County.  We apologize for the previous error)

One week ago, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Petit, a substitute teacher with the Wheatland-Chili School District who was accused of sexually abusing students in March of 2023. Now comes word that Petit worked in the Geneva School District, specifically at the North Street School, during the 2022-2023 school year.

Geneva Police say an investigation is ongoing with the help of the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes. Police say they will release further information as it becomes available.

Anyone with information regarding Petit is urged to contact the Geneva Police Department at 315-828-6771 or Detective Jordan Dobies at 315-828-6780. All information can remain anonymous.

In Monroe County, Petit was indicted on 11 counts of sexual abuse and a half-dozen counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
