Geneva YMCA Names New Executive Director

The former Executive Director of the Clifton Springs YMCA is the new Executive Director at the Geneva Y.

Todd Freelove has over 20 years of experience in various leadership positions within YMCA associations.  With his extensive background in YMCA leadership and a strong commitment to community development, Charlie Evangelista, Vice President of the Geneva YMCA Board of Directors said Freelove emerged as the standout candidate during a recent search process. In a release making the announcement, the Y said Freelove’s proven track record, passion for the YMCA’s mission, and vision for the future of community engagement align perfectly with the values of the Geneva YMCA.

“Todd’s appointment represents a significant milestone for our organization,” remarked Rob Sollenne, Chair of the Search Committee and Chairperson of the Geneva YMCA’s Board of Directors. “His depth of experience and unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and families will undoubtedly propel the Geneva YMCA to new heights.”

Todd Freelove brings with him over twenty years of experience in various leadership capacities within YMCA associations, fostering inclusivity, wellness, and community development. His career has been marked by innovative program development and a keen focus on enhancing the lives of individuals of all ages.

“I am honored and excited to join the Geneva YMCA team,” said Todd Freelove. “The YMCA holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners to further our impact and reach within Geneva and beyond.”

In his new role, Todd will spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at expanding access to essential services, promoting health and wellness, and strengthening community connections.

“I’m excited to lead this established community asset at the same time the Y is expanding and renovating our facility. During my short time here as the interim director, it’s evident that this Y plays a pivotal role in serving the needs of our children, seniors, and families through an extensive depth of programming. We are here to serve our community.”
