    A cold front has pushed through the region and temperatures are quickly dropping below freezing and will continue to drop into the low 20s and teens overnight. A brief period of heavy snow with snowfall rates greater than 1 inch per hour is expected through early Tuesday morning.1 to 3 inches of snow and dropping temperatures will produce a flash freeze and icy conditions on untreated roads and surfaces.

Motorcyclist Killed in Skaneateles Collision

A Central New York man was killed in a motorcycle versus car accident in Onondaga County.

According to State Police, Christopher Hagen, of Oswego, was riding north on West Lake Road in the town of Skaneateles when the driver of a Toyota Highlander who was also northbound attempted to make a left-hand turn into a driveway. Hagen passed several vehicles in the left-hand lane and collided with the Highlander.

The 31-year-old Hagen was ejected from his motorcycle and was taken to SUNY Upstate where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Highlander, 58-year-old Christopher Harten, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was not injured.

New York State Police were assisted on the scene by Skaneateles Fire Department and Marcellus Ambulance Volunteer Emergency Services.

The investigation is continuing.
