The Yates County History Center is offering an audio tour of Penn Yan’s Main Street.

The new tour includes descriptions of selected buildings and localities as well as some of the village’s fascinating history. The tour consists of short audio segments that are connected to QR codes on a map of Main Street.

All you need is a smartphone and the map to enjoy the tour. Maps are available at the Yates County History Center for $5.00 during business hours, from Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The tour was compiled by History Center volunteer Stephanie Olsen, and the QR code technology was conducted by Penn Yan Academy librarian Aaron Mumby and PYA students.  Olsen and Chronicle-Express editor John Christensen narrate the tour.
