Boyfriend of Syracuse Mom Accused of Killing Daughter Charged

SHARE NOW

The boyfriend of a Syracuse mother who has been charged with killing her five-year-old daughter is now facing charges. The body of Nefertiti Harris was located Tuesday morning in a wooded area off Salt Springs Road.

Latasha Mott has been charged with manslaughter. Her boyfriend, Corrice Parks was classified as a person of interest in the investigation but was charged Friday on a felony charge of disposal of a corpse. He was released on an appearance ticket.

WSTM-TV in Syracuse reports police were notified of Nefertiti’s status after the girl’s former foster mother and biological grandmother realized that Mott had been telling each of the women Nefertiti was staying with the other when neither of them had seen her for months.

The station also reports it was later discovered Nefertiti was set to begin kindergarten at Meachem Elementary School in Syracuse in the middle of January. After she hadn’t shown up for multiple days, Mott told a Syracuse City School District employee who questioned her about her daughter’s whereabouts that she had transferred Nefertiti to a school in Georgia, though no transfer paperwork was ever received.

Mott eventually told investigators on Monday where she buried her daughter
