Rep. Tenney Votes to Lower Energy Prices

SHARE NOW

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney supported the passage of multiple initiatives on the House Floor last week to counter President Biden’s energy policies, boost domestic energy production, and tackle rising fuel prices.

“Since President Biden took office, energy costs have soared, leaving families in New York and across the country unable to afford the energy that powers their lives,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “In November 2020, the price of heating oil in our state was $2.41 per gallon. Just over three years later, in February 2024, the cost has skyrocketed to $4.24 per gallon. This 75% increase is a result of Biden’s disastrous decisions to kill the Keystone XL pipeline and terminate countless natural gas and oil leases on federal lands. His administration’s woke policies continue to cost many Americans their jobs and financial stability. I reaffirmed my commitment to advocating for lower energy prices for all New Yorkers by supporting these pro-American energy bills.”

Tenney supported several key bills, including:

  • H.R. 1121 – Protecting American Energy Production Act, which passed the House by a vote of 229-188.
  • H.R. 6009 – Restoring American Energy Dominance Act, which passed the House by a vote of 216-200.
  • H.R. 7023 – Creating Confidence in Clean Water Permitting Act, which passed the House by a vote of 213-205.
  • H. Con. Res. 86 – Expressing the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to the United States economy, which passed the House by a vote of 222-196.
  • H. Res. 987 – Denouncing the harmful, anti-American energy policies of the Biden administration, and for other purposes, which passed the House by a vote of 217-200.
  • H.R. 1023 – The Cutting Green Corruption and Taxes Act, which passed the House by a vote of 209-204.
