A local man was killed in a two-car accident at the intersection of County Road 6 and Billsboro Road in the town of Geneva Thursday morning.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old George Hibbs, of Manchester, and 34-year-old Daniel Gow, of Dresden were approaching County Road 6 on Billsboro from opposite directions at around 10:38 a.m. After stopping at the intersection, Gow attempted to make a left turn north onto County Road 6 when he was struck by Hibbs who entered the intersection without stopping for the stop sign.
Gow and Hibbs were both taken to Geneva General Hospital, where Gow was pronounced dead. There is no word on Hibbs’s condition
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
