Deputy, Trooper Injured in Chase With Geneva Man

SHARE NOW

A State Trooper and a Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputy both suffered minor injuries when attempting to arrest a Geneva man who led police on a chase.

The incident happened after Desmond Reese allegedly stole a car in Geneva. State Police later spotted the vehicle heading east on the Waterloo-Geneva Road in Waterloo. Reese reportedly fled when Troopers attempted to pull him over. After he stopped the car, the 29-year-old ran out behind a business and into a wooded area. Reese injured the two officers after he physically resisted their attempts to place him into custody, resulting in him being tased.

Reese is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. He was turned over to Geneva Police to face charges for the stolen car.
