    Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    There will be several periods of stronger winds, with this afternoon seeing strong southerly winds, then a break this evening, before stronger west wind develop tonight into Saturday.

UPDATE: Two Injured After Buggy Is Struck by Pickup in Yates County

11 a.m. UPDATE:

According to Yates County Sheriff Frank Ryan, the accident victim who was airlifted suffered arm and head injuries.  There is no update on their condition.  The second victim who suffered injuries was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan for undisclosed injuries and is expected to recover.

7:30 p.m. UPDATE: 

Police believe a horse that was pulling a buggy became spooked when it ran from Welker Road and onto Route 14A in front of a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in the town of Barrington.

The driver of the southbound pickup, 26-year-old Dustin Anderson, of Dundee, attempted to avoid striking the buggy but was unsuccessful. The four juveniles riding in the open Buggy were treated on scene by Dundee Ambulance personnel with two being turned over to their mother. The other two were taken to hospitals with one eventually being airlifted from Penn Yan. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Anderson, and a passenger in his pickup truck, 20-year-old Justin Keech, of Dundee, were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit

4:30 p.m. UPDATE:  Route 14A at Welker Road has reopened to traffic.

4 p.m. UPDATE: After one of the victims was initially taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan, a helicopter was requested to transport the victim to another hospital.

A portion of State Route 14A is closed at Welker Road in the town of Barrington following an accident involving a horse and buggy versus a truck.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. and the initial reports on the scene indicated at least four people were injured. At this time, the extent of the injuries is not known but two Medivac helicopters that were on standby to transport any victims were ordered to stand down.

Dundee Fire and Ambulance, along with Penn Yan Ambulance is assisting law enforcement at the scene.
