A Newark man was arrested after it is alleged he took a family member’s car without their permission before getting involved in a motor vehicle accident later that same day.
The accident 46-year-old Chad Welsher was involved in took place on Beam Hill Road in the town of Sodus Saturday morning. Welsher is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operator, drunken driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, driving without an interlock device, and unsafe lane change
Following his arraignment, Welsher was released to appear in Newark Village Court at a later date
