A local woman was taken to the hospital after being involved in a two-car accident in Yates County over the weekend.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Belinda Wilcox was struck from behind on State Route 54a in the town of Jerusalem as she was attempting to make a left-hand turn in the area of the Express Lube on Saturday morning. Wilcox was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The driver of the other car, 19-year-old Janea Hamilton-Brown, of Liverpool, was ticketed for following too closely and speeding.
