A Penn Yan woman was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after being involved in a one-car accident in the town of Torrey.
Debra Litchfield was traveling east on Leach Road when she went off the road after overcorrecting while going around a curve near Norris Road. Litchfield’s car caught the ditch line, causing it to overturn once and come to rest in a cornfield. Mercy Flight transported Litchfield to Strong for shoulder, leg, and back injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
The Dresden and Himrod Fire Departments along with Penn Yan Ambulance and the Yates County Office of Emergency Services assisted at the scene,
