Two Kids Treated Following Varick Mobile Home Fire

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Saturday at about 8:19pm, Deputies responded to 1456 RTE 336 lot 12 in the Town of Varick, New York for the reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, Deputies found the homeowner, Howard Brothers Jr, along with Sabrina Brothers, Brianna Holbert, and Brian Holbert outside of the residence. It was reported that there was no one else in the residence.

Varick Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. North Seneca and South Seneca ambulance along with Mutal aid from Fayette, Border City, Romulus, and Waterloo Fire departments responded to the scene to assist.

Two Juveniles were transported to Geneva General hospital by both North Seneca and South Seneca Ambulance’s for smoke inhalation.

The Seneca County Fire investigation team responded and upon initial investigation it was determined the fire was accidental, but it is still under investigation. Fire damage to the home is estimated to be several tens of thousands of dollars and a vehicle was damaged as well.

It was reported that there was no insurance on the home or vehicle.

The red cross was contacted and will be assisting the family.
