Romulus School Superintendent to Retire in June

SHARE NOW

Another Seneca County School Superintendent will retire. After 11 years in charge, Marty Rotz has announced he will retire at the end of the year as the Romulus School chief. Rotz began his career at Romulus as a science teacher in 1988.

“Serving as your superintendent has been a true honor and privilege. I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support, collaboration, and trust extended to me throughout these years. Witnessing the growth, achievements, and aspirations of our students and district has been the highlight of my career, and I am proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together as a community,” shared  Rotz.

The Romulus Board of Education adopted a resolution to authorize the appointment of Lynne Rutnik, District Superintendent of the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, as the lead search consultant for the position of Superintendent of Schools at its December 12th meeting. Through this appointment, Superintendent Rutnik and Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES will support the Board of Education as we facilitate a thorough search including community feedback, stakeholder meetings, and opportunities to engage. It is anticipated that the new Superintendent will join the Romulus district on July 1, 2024.

The Waterloo School District is also looking for a superintendent after Terri Bavis retired earlier this month.
