Yates History Center Receives Grant for New Exhibit

SHARE NOW

The Yates County History Center has received a Quick Grant from Humanities New York to support Lakelife: Communities Shaped by Water, a new exhibit expected to open early next year in the L. Caroline Underwood Museum.

Lakelife will be a study of how the Finger Lakes, particularly Keuka, Seneca, and Canandaigua, have been used by the people of Yates County for thousands of years and how the lakes have shaped the history, lifestyle, and culture of Yates County communities.

A donation from Barrett Marine Inc., a Waterloo-based business supporting recreational boating in the Finger Lakes, also funds the exhibit and makes it possible.
