    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Actual air temperature will be below zero each night through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst. Daytime high temperatures will climb above zero with afternoon highs of 5 to 15 degrees above zero.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Tompkins County Teen Involved in Fatal MVA Continues to Improve

The 18-year-old from Tompkins County who was behind the wheel of a car involved in a fatal crash a week and a half ago is improving in the hospital.

According to an update from Mansfield University, Daniel “Ty” Beeman’s condition has been upgraded to stable condition at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. According to State Police, Beeman’s Toyota Yaris rear-ended a stopped Jeep Patriot before getting struck by a Cadillac C-T-6 in the oncoming lane of traffic. Beeman’s passenger, 17-year-old Peyton Shaw, of Waverly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other drivers involved in the accident were checked over at the scene and released.

Beeman is a freshman at Mansfield and is a member of the University’s baseball team
