    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Actual air temperature will be below zero each night through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst. Daytime high temperatures will climb above zero with afternoon highs of 5 to 15 degrees above zero.

    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Yates County Sees Huge Bump in November Sales Tax Collections

When it comes to comparing last month’s local sales tax collections figures to November of last year, Yates County had an incredible rebound.

According to numbers released by the State Comptroller’s Office, the county collected $1.55 million in local sales tax last month, up 26.5 % from the same month in 2022. Schuyler County also had a double-digit increase from $1.12 million to $1.24 million. Steuben County recorded a 10.2 % jump from $5.39 million in 2002 to $5.95 million last month.

Overall, local sales tax collections in New York state increased by 5.1% in November compared to the same month in 2022.
