An alleged theft in the town of Junius resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old homeless man.
It is alleged that Austin Molina-Alonza was walking around a business with merchandise in his arms and ran out the door without paying for any of it once store employees turned their backs on him. Molina-Alonzo fled the scene in a car but with the help of the employee’s description of the suspect, Molina-Alonzo was found. After being taken into custody after a traffic stop, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports Molina-Alonzo was found to be in close proximity to drugs.
While at the sheriff’s office, another person’s driver’s license and social security card were found inside of Molina-Alonzo’s wallet. The victim was contacted and wished to press charges.
Molina-Alonzo was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Due to his criminal history, Molina-Alonzo was held in the Seneca County Correctional Facility.
