Sheriff’s Office Raises $5,500 for NY Special Olympics

Members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office recently braved the chilly waters of Oneida Lake to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Members took part in the Oneida Shores Polar Plunge in Brewerton on Sunday which raises money for the Special Olympics of New York. They raised $5,415 through donations in the 17th annual event, supporting local Special Olympics New York athletes.

This is the office’s second year participating and its team, named the Cayuga County Lock-ins, ranked sixth in overall donations to the cause.
