Barbie was the movie of the summer of 2023 and maybe the year. But for a Buffalo woman, Barbie has landed her in trouble with the law.
26-year-old Emoni Thompson is accused of leaving a Walmart store in Erie County on Monday with $800 worth of Barbie toys without paying for the merchandise. When State Police found the vehicle Thompson was in, they turned on their emergency lights but Thompson fled. Troopers say they clocked Thompson traveling over 100 miles per hour before they terminated the pursuit due to public safety.
Thompson was later located and arrested on petit larceny and fleeing an officer charges.
