Yates County Seeks Applicants for Grants

SHARE NOW

Private organizations and local governments in Yates County have the next two months to apply for a 2024 Natural and Recreational Resources Grant.

According to Yates County Planner Jeffrey Ayers, the Grant is an initiative set to spark significant enhancements across the region, fostering an inviting atmosphere that enriches the lives of both locals and visitors, creating a vibrant haven for all. The Yates County 2024 Natural and Recreational Resources Grant seeks projects from both local governments and private organizations that not only look to preserve unique landscapes and areas but also projects that provide interactions and experiences with those natural wonders.

Ayers said last year’s grant response was exceptional, “showcasing a remarkable array of innovative projects.” He said the Planning Department eagerly anticipates funding more initiatives this year, aspiring to make a lasting impact on the community through continued support and collaboration.

Funding awards require a 50% match except in rare circumstances. The match may be comprised of additional funding from other parties or in-kind services.

The deadline for applications is January 24th, 2024 at 4 pm. Award announcements are scheduled for March 15th, 2024.

Interested parties can find the grant application, as well as the grant policy information, on the Yates County Planning Department’s webpage. Applications may be submitted digitally to [email protected] or via mail to 417 Liberty St, Suite 1112, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
