State Police have identified the victim of a fatal car-pedestrian crash that happened near Exit 38 on Interstate 86 in the village of Bath over the weekend.
A preliminary investigation determined that sometime between Friday night and the early morning hours of Saturday, a westbound vehicle struck and killed 40-year-old John Viviano, of Sidney, New York, and continued on.
Investigators say they are looking to locate a 2019 or newer white Volvo semi-truck with damage to the front passenger side. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100.
Viviano was pronounced dead at the scene.
