2,000 Runners Sign Up for Seneca7 in Seven Hours

If you haven’t signed up for the 14th annual Seneca7 race, you’re out of luck. Organizers have announced that registration sold out in just seven hours with teams made up of more than 2,000 runners.

The race is a 77.7-mile relay run around Seneca Lake and consists of seven-member teams. Next year’s race is set for April 28th.

There is one significant change to next year’s race.  Seneca7 will no longer allow a bike division due to safety concerns. Runners, spectators, and officials have indicated serious concerns over the ability of motorized and non-motorized teams to coexist on the course. Some of the bike teams themselves shared safety concerns.

The Seneca7 was born in 2011 as a leadership-building exercise for students of Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
