A major endorsement in the race for the city of Auburn mayor.
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is backing Republican candidate Tim Lattimore. In a statement, Tenney said Lattimore is devoted to Auburn and understands the difficult challenges the city faces in 2023 and beyond.
Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, Lattimore said it’s important to have a good relationship with the area’s federal representative.
“It’s always a pleasure to have Claudi endorse us,” Lattimore said. “If we need help with lake issues or manufacturing, we can pick the phone up and have her come.”
Lattimore and Jimmy Giannettino are vying for Mayor after Michael Quill announced he would not seek another term for the elected position he has held since 2008.
“I am pleased to endorse Tim Lattimore for Mayor of Auburn,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. “A lifelong Auburn resident, Tim is not only devoted to Auburn, but also understands the difficult challenges the city faces in 2023 and beyond. As Mayor, Tim will once again fight for safer streets, better housing, well-paying jobs, more opportunities for young people, lower taxes, and pristine water. Tim knows that protecting our lakes is critical and is the only candidate with a real plan to rescue Owasco Lake. If Auburn residents seek change for the better, they can utilize early, in-person voting or support Tim at the ballot box on Election Day, November 7th. Please join me in supporting Tim Lattimore for Mayor.”
