A change in leadership for the Auburn Doubledays.
Auburn Baseball Inc Vice President Don Lewis announced on the team’s Facebook page on Wednesday that he will be stepping down immediately and turning over 100% ownership and daily operations of the Auburn Doubledays to Bob Ohmann. In his announcement, Lewis added that he is proud of the work he’s done at Falcon Park, including helping to bring additional sports and events such as concerts to the park.
Ohmann also serves as president of the Geneva Red Wings and Newark Pilots, who play in the PGCBL as well.
Lewis and Ohmann took ownership of the team after Major League Baseball took control over Minor League Baseball and ended short-season teams following the cancelled 2020 season. The Doubledays had been playing in the NY-Penn League since 1958.
In 2021, the Doubledays began playing in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Lewis’ final message to fans: “Go Doubledays!”
