Ithaca Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in the city Thursday morning.
Police responded to the area of North Plain and West Seneca streets shortly before 4 o’clock for the report of gunshots. When they arrived, they found 45-year-old Ernest Lankford, of Ithaca, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
IPD was assisted at the scene by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
