After pleading guilty to a charge of manslaughter in July, a Wayne County teenager received a prison sentence that is almost the same as his age.
Wayne County Judge Rick Healy sentenced Silas Rivera last week to 15 years in prison for causing the death of 19-year-old Arthur Edick in September of 2022. Rivera was 17 years old when he stabbed Edick during an argument at a Ridge Road home in Williamson. Edick later died at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Riveria was initially charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon
