An 18-year-old from Geneva was ticketed following the investigation into a two-car accident Monday afternoon in Ontario County.
According to the sheriff’s office, Laura Smith of Stanley had stopped to turn left onto County Road 47 from State Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell when she was struck from behind. Police say Vera Lynn Janten was following Smith too closely and failed to stop in time resulting in a rear-end accident.
Smith was taken to Thompson Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance for complaints of head and neck pain.
