One person is dead following a car accident in Yates County.
21-year-old Tyler Williams was driving east on Gorham Road in the town of Benton just before two Saturday morning when he apparently lost control of his car and went off the south shoulder of the road. Investigators say Williams overcorrected, which resulted in his car traveling back across the road to the north shoulder and overturning in a field. The Pulteney man was ejected from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
Assisting the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was Office of Emergency Management, Benton Fire Department and Penn Yan Ambulance.
