Passenger Suffers Serious Head Injuries in Seneca County Crash

A North Carolina man faces a charge of vehicular assault following an early Wednesday morning accident on State Route 89 in the Town of Fayette.

Robert Fitzgerald was driving north when his car left the road and struck a utility pole. A 40-year-old passenger in the car suffered serious injuries to his face and head and was taken to Geneva General Hospital. The 38-year-old Fitzgerald was also charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Fitzgerald was brought to the Seneca County Jail to await CAP arraignment.

State Police assisted the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office in the accident investigation.
