Cleanup Underway As 2023 State Fair Wraps Up

SHARE NOW

932,699 people attended the 2023 edition of the Great New York State Fair. On Labor Day,  72,529 people passed through the gates of the Fairgrounds to close out the almost two week long event.

Work got underway Tuesday morning to deconstruct The Midway and pack up exhibits. The Fair says its team will continue to clean the Fairgrounds, and start to read through survey responses provided by fairgoers. In the coming days, we’ll debrief on what worked well this year and what we could improve upon to inform planning for next year.

The process to recycle the Butter Sculpture started Tuesday morning in the Dairy Products Building. The Dairy Train is ultimately coming off its tracks to be recycled into energy to help power Noblehurst Farms in Linwood in Livingston County. The American Dairy Association North East is leading the effort to give the butter new life through a partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners and Noblehurst Farms.

The 2024 Great New York State Fair begins Wednesday, August 21 and continues through Monday, September 2.
