Driver Faces Charges After July Crash in Yates County

SHARE NOW

Charges have been filed against the driver who was involved in a one-car rollover crash on State Route 245 north of Parish Hill in the town of Italy back in early July.

An investigation led to 40-year-old Gregory Johnson of Naples being charged with drunken driving, aggravated DWI with a child in the car, and endangering the welfare of a child. Just before 6 p.m. on July 9th, Johnson’s car went off the east side of the road and struck a tree stump, which caused his car to overturn. He had a 13-year-old passenger in the car with him at the time of the accident.

Johnson was taken to the hospital for his injuries while the teen was checked over by EMS on scene and released into the custody of a parent.

Johnson will appear in Italy Town Court at a later date.
