Citizens Preparedness Corps Training at State Fair Tuesday

SHARE NOW

The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, in partnership with the New York National Guard, is hosting a Citizens Preparedness Corps training at the Great New York State Fair on Tuesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Empire Theater located in the Art and Home Center Building.

Citizen Preparedness Corps training, which began in 2014, gives residents the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster or emergency, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. For example, attendees learn how to properly develop family emergency plans and stock up on emergency supplies to help respond to a natural or human-caused disaster. Approximately 365,000 New Yorkers have completed the training since 2014.

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) provides leadership, coordination, and support to prevent, protect against, prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate disasters and other emergencies.
