A Penn Yan woman faces charges after police say she lied about a burglary that happened at her village home.
Catherine Anthony called police Sunday night to report a burglary had occurred at her Liberty Street residence and that property had been stolen by an intruder. An investigation determined that the 64-year-old Anthony lied about the break-in.
She was charged with falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false statement.
Anthony was released on an appearance ticket for Penn Yan Village Court.
