A car struck a horse that was pulling a buggy in Yates County on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the accident occurred on Himrod Road in the town of Milo at around 2:30 p.m.  Alma Riehl of Himrod attempted to pass the horse and buggy operated by 20-year-old Lois Shirk, of Penn Yan, as Shirk was turning left into a driveway without signaling.
