ROME, NY – JULY 6, 2023: AmeriCU Credit Union is pleased to announce an expansion of its field of membership. The New York State Department of Financial Services approved the credit union’s expansion into 15 additional counties across the North Country, Mohawk Valley, Central New York, and Cortland-Ithaca communities. This expansion aligns with the credit union’s mission to provide members of all means the right financial services to achieve their goals.
With this expansion, AmeriCU will have the opportunity to serve close to 2.2 million people in the following 24 counties: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Clinton, Cortland, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Montgomery, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Schoharie, Seneca, Tioga, Tompkins, and Wayne.
Since its establishment in 1950 at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, New York, AmeriCU has grown to serve more than 160,000 members.
