Team Rubicon to Help With Canandaigua Flood Recovery

SHARE NOW

The Flood Information Center opened Monday to provide Canandaigua residents with flood recovery information, resources, and practical guidance. Residents are encouraged to visit the Chamber of Commerce Office at 113 South Main St., Canandaigua from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.

Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises, is graciously volunteering to help homeowners in the clean-up and demolition phase of the flooding. It’s anticipated that Rubicon will potentially start to provide its services as early as Tuesday.

They deploy their “Greyshirts,” who are made up of veterans, first responders and civilian volunteers to work with local municipalities and partner organizations to aid in disaster recovery. All Team Rubicon volunteers are background cleared and trained prior to deploying and all their work is free to homeowners as well as to the City and County.

Their primary job here will be to assist residents with most all water damage needs. They will remove mud, wet flooring, appliances etc. Additionally, the volunteers will remove and haul wet drywall and insulation to the curb so the home is ready for rebuild.

If you are in need of their help, please visit the Flood Information Center at the Chamber of Commerce building at 113 South Main St., Canandaigua or call 585-577-8303
