A Staten Island man, who is a violent sex offender, was taken into custody in Ithaca Saturday night as a Fugitive from Justice.
30-year-old John Tolley was wanted by the Newport News, Virginia, Police Department for allegedly violating the terms of his probation by failing to register as a violent sex offender. Tolley was located by Ithaca Police while conducting a foot patrol of the area known as “the Jungle” in the city.
Tolley was brought to Tompkins County Jail where he will remain until extradition to Virginia can be facilitated by the Newport News Police Department.
