A Shortsville woman faces charges of grand larceny and welfare fraud in Yates County.
Jennifer McCarthy is accused of providing false information to the Department of Social Services, which resulted in an overpayment of public assistance benefits, which she was not entitled to receive.
The 38-year-old McCarthy was also charged with offering a false instrument for filing and was released on appearance tickets for Milo Town Court.
