On Eve of Primary, Regan Talks Making Geneva City Council “Less Dysfunctional”

SHARE NOW

Tuesday is primary election day and in the city of Geneva, Democrats will be voting on their next candidate for mayor. Ward Three Councilor Jan Regan is challenging current Mayor Steve Valentino. Appearing on Monday’s ‘”FLX Morning” Ted Baker asked Jan if she were to be elected mayor in November, how would she get the city’s governing body to be less of a dysfunctional unit than it is currently perceived to be.

“You make sure people are heard, listened to, and respected,” said Regan. “You get them together in work sessions where they have to work together, less formally. It also pushes issues forward better. You know, you want to have a civil Council, you’ve got to address the issues that come up in between meetings.”

Prior to being elected as mayor in 2019, Valentino served as City Councilor in Ward Three for 23 years.
