Seward House Announces New Prison Exhibit & Partnership

SHARE NOW

One Auburn museum is launching a new exhibit exploring the history of the Auburn Correctional Facility.

The Seward House’s Rooted in Reform will also look at the Miller and Seward families’ connection to the prison and prison reform as a whole.

The museum has also partnered with the Correctional Association of New York to receive grant funding to create projects in the city that will examine the changing landscape of places and relationships affected by incarceration.

Rooted in Reform will open as part of Auburn’s First Friday with a free public reception from 5:00-7:00p on May 5th.

The Cayuga Museum opened its own revamped exhibit on the prison in March, having updated the one it had since 2003.
