New charges have been filed against the man who allegedly kidnapped an Ithaca woman earlier this month.
Virginia State Police have charged 34-year-old Michael Davis with attempted capital murder of a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and eluding police.
The 34-year-old Virginia man is accused of kidnapping Tatiana David, the woman who he shared a son with, from Ithaca on April 5th. Later that night, Davis fled Virginia Police as they attempted a traffic stop on his vehicle. After eventually crashing his Jeep, Davis then got into an exchange of gunfire with police. He was taken into custody a short time later and transported to a Virginia hospital.
After Davis was taken into custody, police found David dead. It is still unknown how David died.
The new charges against Davis were handed down this week after he was released from the hospital.
