Auburn’s School Board has approved a budget of just over 100-million dollars for the coming year.
School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo says the lack of a state budget complicates things. “Our board usually doesn’t approve a budget until a state budget is approved,” Pirozzolo told Finger Lakes News Radio, “but we couldn’t wait any longer. We had to make the best decision we could with the information we had at hand.”
While in the pass funding has been increased by the state, school officials are anticipating a decrease.
Residents will vote whether or not to approve the budget in May.
