An inmate at the Onondaga County Jail was found dead in his cell Wednesday morning.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 43-year old Patrick Miller of Syracuse was found unresponsive in his cell at around 1:00a and CPR was then administered.
Staff, nurses, and paramedics attempted to revive Miller but he was pronounced dead shortly after. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded and the State Attorney General’s Office is investigating as required by law.
Miller had underlying health conditions that may have played a role in his death and the Sheriff’s Office says it doesn’t suspect suicide or foul play.
Miller was brought to the justice center on April 3rd due to warrants regarding petit larceny and possession of a controlled substance.
