Sex Offender Failed to Register New Canandaigua Address

A Level Three sex offender has been arrested for allegedly failing to register his new address with the state after moving to Canandaigua.

Police say after 28-year-old Wesley Smith, Junior, moved from Rochester, he failed to verify his new address within ten days. He was charged with one count of being a Sex Offender who Failed to Verify his Address within 10 Days as a first-time offense.

Smith was convicted in 2015 for the rape of a 12-year-old girl and was sentenced to five years in prison.
