A Penn Yan man has been arrested on welfare fraud following an investigation by the Public Assistance Fraud Unit of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Mahunik is alleged to have used the benefits card of another person while that individual was in jail.
Mahunik, who was also charged with misuse of food stamps, was released on an appearance ticket.
