One Cayuga County town is changing how its fire services will work.
The Fleming Town Board has voted to dissolve the Fleming Fire Protection District and form a new Fleming Fire District, active October 2nd.
Fire services in the town are currently provided by two separate entities – Fleming Fire Department No. 1 and Fleming Fire Co. 2.
The new district will be a single entity composed of the two current departments and have a publicly elected set of Fire Commissioners to oversee operations.
No changes will be made to the town’s response area.
